Juniors Classes
Pre-teen and teen Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — competitive-ready training and an anti-bullying toolkit.
The Juniors program at Gracie Barra Boca Raton is the final stage of the school's age-banded kids curriculum, serving teens ages 13–15 at near-adult training intensity. Students in this program are either continuing from Little Champs 2 with years of Gracie Barra curriculum behind them, or they are joining Jiu-Jitsu for the first time as teenagers. Both entry points are accommodated. The Gracie Barra curriculum is structured to bring beginners in at any level while challenging students who have trained for years to continue developing.
At the Juniors level, training intensity moves meaningfully closer to the adult program. Live sparring rounds are a regular part of class structure, technique instruction covers the full range of the Gracie Barra curriculum, and students begin preparing for the technical and physical demands of adult BJJ. For Boca Raton teens who want to compete — locally, regionally, or at the IBJJF level — the Juniors program provides the preparation. For those who are not interested in competition, the program provides an athletic and mental challenge that is genuinely uncommon in the range of activities available to teenagers in South Florida.
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students from Parkland, Boca Raton Community High and Olympic Heights students from West Boca, and Atlantic High School students from Delray Beach train in the Juniors program and consistently demonstrate the outcomes their parents and teachers describe: improved focus, physical conditioning, and the kind of composure under pressure that comes from regular exposure to controlled adversity on the mat.
The transition from Juniors into the adult program at 16 is designed to be smooth. Students who complete the Juniors curriculum with the Gracie Barra belt progression behind them are genuinely prepared for adult training — not in a symbolic sense but technically, physically, and mentally.
